about

An extra song which makes it an even hour (bless you for listening)

I decided to write myself out of my mother's will by destroying her favorite song. When your young and you hear your beloved mother singing to the radio in the car, no matter how talented she is, you get a sort of trapped feeling- It probably is one of the first we might encounter.
I love the song, but don't you get a little creeped out when you hear someone other than Mary Wells say "There's nothing you can say that etc.." Seems a little indifferent to reality.

lyrics

She says I used to be unhappy,, i had a lot of bad friends
I went drinking all night and I had meaningless sex
Ate anything I wanted and played video games
Friends crashed on my couch but that never seemed strange
I used to love sunburns and watch the Living Dead
use my kitchen for the takeout …smoke cigars in bed
Make senseless art ... never pay my bills
And hang out naked by my window sill
Now she's around me all day
Can't seem to understand why
She says that I'm much happier now
when she calls me her Guy.

I used to have a lot of lovely friends who were girls
She never trusted them and they overheard
Had comfortable clothing but it never would match
I'd leave it on the floor and I'd like it like that
I put all that behind me
I know you cant understand why
She says I'm much happier now when she calls me her guy

I used to hum, whistle and drum to myself
Sing in the rain and sleep in again with no one else
Oh how very sad
it must've seemed
to you all
now i believe
everything
she says
to me

There's nothing you can do and nothing you can say
She says that nothing can take her away
I'm like a big sidekick you say indifferently
She says "don't pay no mind to things like reality"
So, please be happy for me
I know you don't understand why
Now I must get off the phone... I hear her singing, my guy.
(wait for two minutes)
