David felt somewhat protective over this one. Not because of Katy Perry, but rather the idea from which her song was "borrowed"; a tender Jill Sobule song.
It seemed all the more doable to me to deflate Katy's monster hit.
I never liked the way the girl in the song was so flippant about her kissing a girl at a party she came to with her boyfriend.
What does the girl she kissed think about? What about her boyfriend? What might he do about it?
