A refutation of Liz Phair's song. I had this in my catalog without the lyrics as a demo for Leonard Cohen during his last project. I wanted to hear his sagely voice next to scratchy "Golden Gate Jubilee" type voices. He graciously encouraged me to do this for myself. I wanted it to be a song about an old fashioned man trying to make his way in this modern world. When Y-Chrome Adam started recording, this song came to mind. Liz Phair may not be a household name but she has a true lyrical talent and a loyal audience. I always thought "Fuck and Run" was a true woman anthem when i heard it. Again, I imagined the man in her lyrics and what he might be going through in order to behave the way she describes.
forgive the Jack Johnsony delivery, but I imagine a dude like him being in the entanglement.
